At Teryl Scott Lawyers Inc., “Teryl Scott”, we are committed to protecting your personal information while maintaining appropriate records to meet our professional and legal obligations.
At the conclusion of your matter, Teryl Scott will handle your file and personal information as follows:
1. Return of Original Documents
Teryl Scott will not retain original documents unless specifically requested or required by law.
Any physical copies of documents retained during the course of your matter will be securely destroyed in accordance with our confidentiality obligations.
2. Retention of Digital File
Teryl Scott will retain an electronic copy of your file for reference purposes. This allows us to:
- Respond to future inquiries
- Review past work if required
- Comply with professional and regulatory obligations
All digital records are stored securely and access is restricted to authorized personnel.
3. Conflict Check Information
Teryl Scott will retain your name and limited identifying information indefinitely for the sole purpose of conducting conflict of interest checks, as required by professional obligations.
4. Removal of Contact and Financial Information
Upon written request by the client at the conclusion of the file, Teryl Scott will remove the following personal information from its systems, where practicable:

- Mailing address

This removal is subject to any legal, regulatory, or accounting requirements that may require retention of certain information.
