We Do It Differently
Sometimes you may find yourself needing a quick Notary Public in Halifax. Perhaps you just learned of the travel documents needed to travel alone with your child, without their other parent. With a team of lawyers, who are also Notaries Publics of Nova Scotia, we can be quick to help you, almost always being able to offer this service the same day. Our office is conveniently located on the Bedford Highway, making our Notary Public services easily accessible to members of Bedford, Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville, Tantallon and beyond. Common documents which require a Notary Public are:
- Letters of Consent for International Travel
- Affidavits and Statutory Declarations
- Letters of Invitation to assist in a Visa application (we also have a great immigration lawyer!)
Our Services In Notary Public
For the above mentioned services we charge $75 for the first 15 minutes of verifying and notarizing. If additional time is needed, if you are missing pages which we need to prepare for you, or if you want custom letters drafted we charge our hourly rate of $450 plus 4% admin fee and HST. Please feel free to call our office to discuss what services you require and when you would like to come by.
Other documents which may require a Notary Public include: Acknowledgements of Execution, insurance Proof of Loss forms, First-Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit forms, or Criminal Background Checks. Perhaps you have been requested to send a certified copy of a document such as a degree, passport or other formal document. We can help you create these certified copies as well.
To be better prepared for our meeting, if you are looking for a travel consent letter to be signed by our Notary Publics, the Canadian Foreign Affairs and International Trade website provides a great form which can be filled out and brought with you. Multiple copies (one for each parent at least) are recommended, so if you bring the copies, they can be signed within that 15 minute window.
